November 6, 2015
Happy November, RE/MAX friends!
We have exciting news to share from Duke Children’s this week – yesterday marked the opening of our *new* Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The new unit will accommodate 16 of our most fragile cardiac patients, all in private rooms with space for a family member to stay at the bedside around the clock. These children range in age from newborns to young adults and come to Duke Children’s from all over the Southeast. Some have rare congenital heart defects and others are awaiting transplant with the help of a ventricular assist device (VAD). One of our patients has been with us 8 months waiting for a new heart and a new kidney.
All of these children are dependent upon Duke Children’s – and your support helps each and every one of them!
You are truly the and soul of our hospital. Our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partners – including YOU at RE/MAX! – provide funds that enable us to provide a warm, nurturing, family- and patient-friendly environment and the most advanced cutting-edge research into new treatments and care. We would like to extend a felt ‘thank you’ to all of you and especially recognize these RE/MAX agents who have become Miracle Agents in the past month:
*Barbara Mann, RE/MAX Realty Consultants, Greensboro
*Linda Trevor, RE/MAX United, Cary
On behalf of all our patients and caregivers, we wish you a healthy and safe Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends – and the opportunity to reflect on the great care that your support provides to these families.
