Blum 5K Race: March is Myeloma Action Month

Blum 5K Race logoWe are excited to be a sponsor again this year for the 6th Annual BLUM 5K for Multiple Myeloma coming up on Saturday, March 11th at Bond Park.  What is Multiple Myeloma?  It the second most common blood cancer which is a non-curable cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. Plasma cells help your body fight infection by producing proteins called antibodies. In multiple myeloma, plasma cells grow out of control in the bone marrow and form tumors in the areas of solid bone. The growth of these bone tumors makes it harder for the bone marrow to make healthy blood cells and platelets. Many patients have never heard of it until they are told they have the disease. The charity race event brings attention to and raises money for research in helping to find a cure.  A special shout out to our friend Scott Blum, charity organizer and survivor!
