The Milken Institute’s annual Best-Performing Cities (BPC) rankings provide an objective framework for evaluating the relative performance of US cities.

Raleigh, NC ranked as the third large cities in this year’s rankings. Raleigh has strong high-tech sectors, ranking 10th, respectively, in high-tech GDP concentration. As a result, the rapid job and wage growth experienced by high tech in recent years was reflected in the city labor market: Raleigh ranked 14th and 15th in five-year job and wage growth, and 11th and 26th in one-year job and wage growth.
